"L.A. TWISTER" SPINS INTO LOS ANGELES THEATERS
WITH INDICAN PICTURES

The first ever interactive independent film!!

MAY 26, 2004 - Indican Pictures announces the acquisition of Sven Pape's feature "L.A. TWISTER", starring Zack Ward ("A Christmas Story", Titus, the upcoming "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and "Aurora Borealis") as Lenny and Tony Daly (upcoming "Dodge Ball") as Ethan that will open in Los Angeles theaters this July. The premiere of "L.A. Twister" will take place on June 30th at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre, making this one of a few independent films to premiere at the prestigious venue.

The comedy follows two young "starving artists", with few prospects, who decide to take matters into their own hands. In the process they discover the nepotism of success, chaos of love and the foundation of friendship. "L.A. Twister" is an inside look at the absurdity and "drama" that goes with sex, money (or lack of) and manipulation in the city of Angels. And they call this the CITY OF ANGELS???...

After opening in Los Angeles in July 2004, Indican Pictures will continue the release the film in top theatrical markets throughout the U.S. However, the real story starts now, as the editor of James Cameron's recent IMAX film "Ghost of the Abyss", Sven Pape has created the first Interactive independent film. He created a play titled L.A. Twister: Canolis and Cocoa, which is prequel to the movie and is currently running at The Hollywood Fight Club in Los Angeles.

By logging into www.LATWISTERmovie.com viewers watch rehearsals and give feedback to actors through a chatroom, becoming active participants in shaping the play. The audition process began with 800 viewers who voted online during the open auditions and today there are 36, 921 page views since going live two weeks ago. James Cameron kindly provided Sven with five of his "Adventure Cams" (tiny remote cameras that can point in any direction and zoom in on any detail) that were used on the return expedition to the Titanic. These cameras are currently placed through out the rehearsal space and production office.

The Film's lead actors, Zack Ward and Tony Daly will headline the All Star Cast for this Grand Finale performance on June 27, 2004.

A month later the film, "L.A. Twister" will open to the general public.

The cast of the film "L.A. Twister" includes: Zack Ward, Tony Daly, Colleen Camp ("Police Academy", "Rat Race"), Jennifer Aspen (Party of Five), Susan Blakely (Golden Globe winner for "Rich Man, Poor Man"), Sarah Thompson (Angel, In the Line of Fire) and more.

Directed by Sven Pape, "L.A. Twister" is the follow up film from the visually stunning "Better Luck Tomorrow" D.P., Patrice Cochet. The film was produced by Stephen A. Marinaccio II, Sven Pape and Anthony Stoppiello and co-produced by Lisa London and Catherine Stroud.

Sven Pape represented LA Twister, LLC with attorney Mark Binder. Shaun Hill and attorney Sylvia Esquivel represented Independent American Pictures, Inc. in the six figure theatrical pick up. The film marks the fourth theatrical release for the distributor this year, but "L.A. Twister" marks the first film from the distributor to premiere at Mann's Chinese. Founded in 1998, Los Angeles-based Independent American Pictures specializes in Independent American product that is challenging, unique and edgy.
